- 5 out of 18 patients felt an
increase in energy while on the active substance
- 3 out of 6 placebo patients gained 1
lb and 1 placebo patient lost 1
Adverse Effects Reported
Adverse effects were reported by 2
patients (a husband and wife), one of whom was taking the active
substance and the other (male) was taking the placebo.
They complained of acidity and a bloating sensation soon
after starting the Caralluma capsules.
Both of them stopped taking the capsules, then started again
and claimed they developed the same symptoms and therefore
discontinued altogether.
It's important to note that
traditional Ayurvedic medicine experts have reported no adverse
effects when using Caralluma fimbriata and say that the plant has no
known toxicity.
Dr. Nicholas Perricone has written several books
on the subject of weight loss as well as anti-aging, and he has
reported that "Caralluma
Fimbriata suppresses your appetite by signaling the hypothalamus
in the brain that we're just not hungry. Caralluma is without a
doubt, one of the best strategies I can think of for losing body
weight and also increasing muscle mass."
A U.S. company, Gencor Pacific in Austin, TX has developed a
standardized product called Slimaluma that delivers this plant in as
a concentrate and can be taken in powder or capsule form.
If you combine Caralluma Fimbriata with a healthy diet and
regular exercise, it could just be the thing to get rid of those
extra pounds.
